Programme Concept:
BCLM will be marking Windrush Day on Saturday 20th June. The event will comprise of storytelling, celebration and education.
Caribbean stories will be platformed in multiple locations including the Infant Welfare Centre, Lavender’s Aluminium Foundry, Spring Hill Post Office & roaming on the High Street. NEW for 2026! – the Windrush stage in Folkes Park will play host to a number of talks and panel discussions, covering the history of the HMT Windrush and the lasting legacy of Carribean people and culture in Britain. Alongside learning about the experiences that shaped the Windrush generation, we want to encourage our visitors to celebrate Carribean culture – with live music, dancing, a fashion show AND authentic food served by Jerk Centre Street Food.
