Thank you to everyone who participated in our February Half Term programme – Opple a Day! We’ve had some great feedback from visitors:
- 91% rated the experience as ‘excellent’ or ‘good’.
- 90% said they learned something new about Black Country heritage.
- 85% said they learned something new about 1950s and 60s History.
Here are some comments from visitors (both positive and constructive):
- “The night soil man! The characters were very friendly and informative.”
- “The school house was great with lots of information to keep the children interested and very entertaining.”
- “The changing and constant evolution of the museum. The knowledge and friendliness of museum staff, in fact, the general atmosphere created by actually stepping back in time.”
- “We enjoyed the board games in the hut.”
- “I think that the people in the buildings dressed in the time period, should be in character throughout. It’s fine having moments of out of character, but some were just not in character at all, and seemed put out that people were talking to them.”
- “We were disappointed again to find hardly any people in the houses talking about what we were looking at. No one dressed up walking around/interacting with visitors. No gluten-free choices for hot food.”
- “Have both chip shops open at the same time, one was closed the wait for chips was crazy. More operational shops where you can purchase items. A traditional tea room or restaurant that you can use.”
