Thank you to everyone who participated in our February half term programme – Historical Hobbies. We’ve had some brilliant feedback for the first programme of 2025 and now we need to hear from you!

Here are some highlights of what our visitors thought:
“The school experience, hearing James Whale’s story, the Elephant & Castle was nice, warm and inviting…the authenticity of all the exhibits. The interactive nature of the museum.”
- 97% of visitors rated their overall experience of the programme as “good” or “excellent” (73% voted excellent!)
- 93% of visitors agreed that they had “learnt something new about Black Country Heritage”
- 86% of visitors agreed that they “felt like they had the opportunity to participate”
- 46% of visitors used their Trail which is typically higher than average usage, and it scored a rating of 90% for quality.
- 45% of visitors were first time visitors
- Visitors repeatedly mentioned that they felt like there was a lot to do and see, as well as friendly and knowledgeable staff.
- Visitors mentioned signage and direction as a challenge, not always being met or greeted with a warm welcome and pricing as being high. Some also felt that we weren’t always meeting the expectation of being a “living Museum”:
“I believe the guides should be as if they live there. Too many stood and asked for questions where I believe if they were playing a role it would give a greater insight and feel real.”
