Thank you so much to everyone who took part in and supported our popular 1960s event! It was a success, though not as highly rated as last year. The visitor response has been quite positive (see below for ratings and comments). As always, your feedback is extremely valuable to us, so please take a few minutes to fill in our staff survey:

The entertainment was absolutely fantastic. I took my parents and they couldn’t stop singing along. Especially to the Ska-waddy band. It was a lovely vibe to the experience and quite nostalgic to my parents. A really well thought out evening. A big well done to the team.

Staff were extremely helpful in particular driver of Dorris who took us down to the bottom & came for our return journey back up the hill. Without this we cld not have enjoyed the evening. Entertainment especially the Beatles’ tribute grp was absolutely great.

Not enough food and drink outlets ques was long and tiring for someone with disabilities but Apart from that was a good evening the park area was a nightmare to get around with wheelchair with all clothing stands but band was nice to watch and listen too

Loads better this year than last year it seems u listened to your customers and with everything being open , shops , pubs , events stalls etc and even fun bingo at the school the whole evening was FAB-TASTIC

The authentic atmosphere and the engagement by the role playing characters throughout the whole area

“Dusty Tart” in the gay flamingo was amazing! It was very informative and entertaining- lot of laughs!!

Definitely make it a daytime and evening ticket to enable people to spend more time (and money) Not enough time in 3 and half hours especially when queuing for food and drinks

Absolutely amazing to see the BCLM embracing the history of LGBTQ+ and making elements of the history “alive” today

Admit less people, I felt there were too many people present which detracted massively from the enjoyment and comfort of the evening.

I really enjoyed the event. But there were just too many people and not enough facilities. We spent a huge amount of time queuing even just to use the bathroom, which spoilt the event slightly for us. It would be better if ticket sales were limited or if facilities were adequate for that number of people

We loved the live music in the park and on the stage. The 1960s dj played great music opposite the chip shop and the dancers were brilliant. The vintage stalls in the park were lovely to look around whilst listening to the music. Had chips and ice cream in the sunshine – perfect. I lost my Fitbit and someone had very kindly handed it in so all in all a brilliant day. We love coming to the BCLM – it’s my husbands favourite place to visit. We love looking around the whole site and will hopefully be back many times this year. Thank you

The chap at the Gay Flamingo Club was very knowledgeable and friendly .

We didn’t feel that there were as many characters interacting than on previous visits
