Welcomes
Earlier this month we welcomed Melanie Penn, Cleaning & Recycling Manager, Yasmine Beddall, Talent & Development Coordinator and Jozey Grae, Public Programme Producer.
Melanie will oversee the Cleaning team, coordinating the planning and scheduling of cleaning operations across the Museum. Melanie brings over 30 years’ experience in hospitality, housekeeping management and operations, having previously worked at The Grand Hotel, The Copthorne and within The Royal Household. Melanie will be with us initially for one day a week, joining us on a full time basis from mid-July.
Yasmine joins the People & Culture team and will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of recruitment and training across the Museum. Yasmine has a wealth of knowledge in the recruitment sector, having previously worked as a Senior Candidate Consultant at Adecco.
Jozey will be supporting the Programme development team in the creation and delivery of the Museum’s public programmes. Jozey is an experienced freelance arts worker who has managed and supported on a variety of projects in family visitor attraction entertainment, in addition to being the co-founder of an Arts Council funded theatre company.
Farewells
Towards end of last month we sadly said farewell to two long term colleagues of the Museum, Chris Corfield and Mavis Clarke. Both Mavis and Chris have been a key part of the Museum’s history, with a combined service of over 21 years.
Andy Hannon from the Visitor Welcome & Admissions team, left earlier this month to explore a career in Property Management. Andy joined the Museum as a casual before securing permanent employment as Visitor Welcome & Admissions Team Member, and most recently supported with the interim management of the Visitor Welcome team.
Sarah Doherty from the Collection team left us in May after securing an exciting permanent position with Chambers of commerce in London. Beth Taylor, also from the Collections team, is due to leave us at the end of June when their fixed term contract comes to an end. Beth has secured a fantastic opportunity at the City of London Corporation.
After a short extension Andy Curtis left us earlier this month now that the New Historic Town is finally built.
We also said goodbye to Helen Doherty from our Enterprise team, who worked mostly within our Gift shop.
We wish all our colleagues the best in their future endeavors.
Other People News
Steve Amos, casual Historic Character, has been appointed as casual Duty Manager within the Engagement Operations Team.
Sofia Kendrick-Higgs, casual Enterprise Team Member, has taken on some additional work as a casual Research Assistant within the Interpretation & Research team.
Tom Dipple started a new role within the Programme Development team earlier this month, Programme Development Manager (Education). Tom will be leading the development and co-ordination of the Little Makers project.
Following the appointment of Yasmine to the People & Culture team, Ricki Boden moves into the role of Volunteer Coordinator supporting with the engagement and retention of the Museum’s Volunteer community, in addition to managing the recruitment of new volunteers roles, work experience and work placement opportunities.
Hayley Boswell progresses into the role People & Culture Manager, and Susannah Green, People & Culture Advisor. Together they will continue to provide knowledgeable HR guidance/support and act as trusted advisors to both staff and managers as appropriate.
