Welcomes

Let’s extend a warm welcome to our latest additions, who have joined the Museum this month;

Amelia Marks, Finance Assistant. Amelia has stepped into the Finance team, where her expertise will contribute to the seamless execution of our daily finance operations.

Laura Dudley, Development Coordinator, joins us and later this month, Alice Gibbons, Corporate Sales & Development Coordinator. Laura and Alice are the newest members of our Development Team, bringing fresh perspectives and valuable skills to enhance our museum’s growth and outreach.

Farewells

In December we bid adieu to John Ryan, Duty Manager and Gail Davies, Site Cleaner. Both John and Gail retired after dedicating their time and efforts to our Museum for the past 12 & 23 years respectively. We appreciate their hard work and wish them a fulfilling retirement. John may return to the Museum sometime in the future in a Casual Capacity.

We will be bidding a sad farewell to our Directors of Development, Carolyn Sankey and Vicki Stanley. Both Carolyn and Vicki have job shared the post of Director of Development.

Carolyn was appointed as the Museum’s first Director of Development (fundraising) in 2011 and Vicki took on the role as maternity cover in 2013. For the past 10 years they have job shared the role and established the Development team from scratch, carrying out fundraising, membership, business partnerships, venue hire and filming. Carolyn and Vicki have been instrumental in developing relationships with numerous stakeholders such as Arts Council England and National Lottery Heritage Fund, in turn securing millions of pounds of investment in the Museum, most recently for Forging Ahead.

Carolyn leaves on 25th January to take up the role of Director of Development for The National Forest – the first broadleaf forest to be created for the nation in over 1000 years, across 200 square miles of central England, and Vicki leaves in March to take on a senior role in the national Philanthropy team at the Canal & River Trust.
